What is this conference about?

Plamu First is a three-day conference aimed at bringing together the Atlantic salmon community to develop and refine a unified action plan. Conference partners and participants will be able to share and learn through presentations and round table discussions. With your help, we will discuss, outline, and refine our 5-year conservation plan, developed in 2021. Our main goal is to focus on the preservation of the Plamu in our Miramichi waterways.


When is the next conference?

Plamu First 2024 is scheduled for April 22-24. The conference will begin Monday evening with a meet-and-greet from 6pm-8pm, a full day session will take place on Tuesday from 8am-4pm, and the session will wrap up on Wednesday, between 8am-noon.


Where is the next conference taking place?

Plamu First 2024 is taking place at the Rodd Miramichi located at 1809 Water St., Miramichi, NB.

What if I am travelling from away?

All travel arrangements, including accommodations, are the responsibility of each conference participant. A block of rooms has been set aside for a discounted rate under PLAMU FIRST CONFERENCE at Rodd Miramichi: 1-800-565-RODD (7633). How do I participate?

Plamu First 2024 is an invite-only event. If you have received an invitation to attend Plamu First 2024, please RSVP here.

I missed the RSVP deadline, can I still attend?

It is important to us that all invitees have the opportunity to attend the conference. If you missed the RSVP deadline, please reach out to us directly at plamufirst@nsmtc.ca and we will do our best to accommodate your attendance.

Where can I view the agenda?

The agenda for Plamu First 2024 is still in development. It will be circulated to attendees by email and posted online in the weeks leading up to the conference.
